Queer-Asian voices take center stage—bold stories, lush music, and a couple of cocktails on us to keep the drama flowing.
On June 12, 2026, Wear Yellow Proudly joins forces with ePOP to present Love Notes Special Edition: Memoirs of a Gaysian at Society Hill Dance Academy.
A part of the Philly Pride Arts Festival, this cabaret explores the unique perspectives of Queer-Asian experiences. Highlighting Queer and Asian composers and librettists, it features songs and arias from the traditional classical canon alongside works by living composers.
Being Asian and being Queer are often compartmentalized - traditional family values and limited accessibility to same-sex marriages in Asian countries result in many LGBTQIA+ people being silenced. Join us for an evening where Queer-Asian artists unite these two worlds, sharing their unique stories and perspectives with you.
Memoirs of a Gaysian stars tenor Spencer Britten, countertenor Chuanyuan Liu, and pianist Jeremy Chan, whose work has been heard on stages including The Philadelphia Orchestra, Carnegie Hall, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Sydney Opera House, Alice Tully Hall, Wigmore Hall, and venues throughout Europe.

Ancient Chinese poetry and songs steeped in power, romance, and intrigue.
Tea with Tang & Song is an intimate experience of music, poetry, and storytelling—featuring both literal tea and the kind that gets spilled through song. Presented via an exciting new collaboration between Philly-based Liberty City Arts and Wear Yellow Proudly, this program drags ancient Chinese poetry and song straight into the present—serving up stories of power, romance, scandal, and tea that was definitely not meant to be kept secret. Musical settings of poetry from the Tang (618–907) and Song (960–1279) dynasties are paired with lively narration that dives into the gossip, intrigue, and human drama often left out of official history.
