About Us
How We Started
Wear Yellow Proudly was created in 2020 as a response to the increasing amount of xenophobia towards Asians across the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past four years, using our digital platform, WYP showcased over 75 Asian artists and their work, collaborated with over 30 different organizations, hosted discussion panels on arts and advocacy topics such as, mental health as an Asian artist, Asian-Black solidarity within the Black Lives Matter movement, and more. Wear Yellow Proudly has hosted virtual concerts, including the #StopAsianHate Benefit Concert which has been shared with communities across America on over 25 classical music organizations. As live performances returned, WYP has been producing live concerts, including Songs to the Moon and Girls of Yellow Diamonds. Alongside our concerts, WYP has continued to feature professionals in the classical music industry through our podcast Through Our Lens, hosted by Julius D. Sanchez.
